Good start to this years festival. My next two movies were somewhat related, though not in the most obvious way. I’ll go into that later.
The concept for The Lobster is hilarious: “In a dystopian near future, single people, according to the laws of The City, are taken to The Hotel, where they are obliged to find a romantic partner in forty-five days or are transformed into animals and sent off into The Woods.” Continue reading
Off we go. My first screening at the annual Helsinki International Film Festival was the action sci-fi movie Turbo Kid. Lots of hype and positive anticipation surrounded this movie prior screening, and I’m not gonna lie – I hate hype. So the movie probably lost some of its edge before I’d even seen one frame of it.
