From the Finnish filmmakers behind the wonderfully strange hillbilly horror flick Kyrsyä – Tuftland, a new release is about to see the light of day. Enter Punainen Kohina (eng. Red Static).
Red Static is a thriller story about very current themes, alienation and mental issues. The synopsis is simple: “A lonely man living on a secluded farm invites his childhood friends for a visit. He has a plan that will shock everyone who ever knew him and change their lives forever.” Childhood friends calling back reminds me of Stephen King’s It, which isn’t a bad thing at all. I’m especially happy to see this bunch continuing their journey into the rural corners of Finland.
